January 23, 2013 Transparent

Word for the 23rd of January: Transparent

There are many ways of viewing transparency: windows are transparent (you can see thru them), you can be transparent, in that you are open and honest, layers in Photoshop can have different levels of transparency, depending on what/how much of the layers below you want to show thru (like the post here), and you can have transparency in paint, notably in watercolor, where the light is reflected back from the paper thru the paint.

The hollyhock painting below has a lot of transparency in the flowers. They seem to glow.

I think I caught the effect that I wanted, the flowers are bursting with light, as if they were in the sun.
