Today's word is eyes.
So, do you see what I see?
Why yes, you can see it with your own eyes. It is snowing again, maybe 4 inches tonight.
This kid, who has been staying with us, has the biggest brown eyes, and really long black lashes.
The camera and the light wasn't cooperating, so this is the best that I can do. But any woman in her right mind would want those eyes and lashes. Why are they wasted on boys??

April 21, 2013 Ha Ha Ha
Today's word: ha ha ha
This is the face of a 3 year old temper tantrum. We laughed at her.
I mean, what else can you do?
In other news, I lost my pedometer (with almost 8000 steps on it for today) and when we went back to find it, someone had run over it. Now it doesn't work. Ugh! So Clyde ordered me another one, and he got one for himself so that when I lose the new one, I can have his. He's so sweet!

April 18, 2013 Hello
Today's word is hello.
And I have to say, after this week, it's "Hello Sunshine"!!
This is what we got up to this morning....lots of snow, and lots of brilliant Colorado sunshine.
The blue skies are very welcome, after all the dreary, cold days this week. Of course, it's still cold!

April 17, 2013 Symmetry
Today's word is: symmetry
The quilt I started last summer hasn't gotten very far towards being done until recently. Since I am 'stuck' not being able to wander very far, I went back to work on it. These are what the blocks look like:
The blocks are all symmetrical like these, and they will be attached so that the points of the petals meet.
There were approximately 24 different fat quarters in the bundle of batik fabric that I bought, and I took the 4 yellow/ light orange ones to make the middles. So the finished quilt will have about twenty different colored flower blocks in it. I haven't figured out if the colors will be just random, or if I will try to put them together in a pattern.
But I have added to the pile of finished blocks, and am now into the thirties. Only maybe less than 40 to go.
On another note, it has snowed almost all day here, and now the wind is howling outside. We are having a wonderful spring, what with all the cold temps and snow. The few warm and sunny days have been great!

April 7, 2013 Macro
Today's word: macro
So, what else. I took some macro closeups of some flowers that are on my counter.
In other news, I am now up to 2.1 miles divided between two 30 minute sessions on the treadmill. Also, I can skip the oxygen most of the day (I still use it for the treadmill).
Today, I cleaned cat boxes (yyeewww!!!), and the dog yard (only partially) where the oxygen tubing won't reach, and I came back up and the levels were 88 or higher. I did have to help Clyde chase dogs today.
Someone left the garage door to the house unlatched, the wind blew it open, and the dogs took off, of course. So, all the way around the circle, and we found them. We called them, and Rosie came running, with some coaxing and she got a treat. Gnarly had gotten himself inside a fence, and did have to think about how he was going to get out. Rosie was on the outside of the fence when we found them, and she was trying to figure out how to get inside with Gnarly.
Needless to say, they had leashes on when they got out of the truck to go in the house. And, now that Rosie knows what's out there, we're going to have to leash her to go out to the truck. Gnarly has been a given all this time to be leashed to go out to the truck. He likes to take offf.

April 4, 2013 Silhouette
Today's word: silhouette
So the picture isn't great, but I thought I'd post something that is usually a natural silhouette, no matter what you try. I had to focus on the edge of the counter above his head, hold the focus, and lower the lens to get the photo of Gnarly.
Sometimes my logic isn't to great. I thought that if I got him in front of the white wall, the camera would be able to focus around his edges because of the contrast. No go. It wouldn't focus at all. Then Clyde had to figure out what I'd done to the camera. I don't touch buttons on it, just the on/off and press the shutter button, but somehow, something else gets set or unset and the camera doesn't work right. OK, five minute tirade on how I mess up the camera and why can't I figure out what it is that I did......
But, I did get a shot..

April 3, 2013 Skyline
Today's word: skyline.
At my house, the skyline is very close and very high. Something like being in the center of a city and having to look up at all the buildings. In my case, you have to look up over the trees.
These were taken from my back deck today.
I did try to get another skyline for you. The mountains to the west make a magnificent skyline. I took this one on the way to Monument this afternoon, and got all the afternoon haze that we get on warm sunny days.
Doesn't matter, I'll take the warm temps, I can take a picture anytime.
On another note, I spent the morning scrubbing the stove and the microwave. My husband is a really good cook, and he cooks all the time. I have been very well fed throughout this whole episode. And he has worked very hard to pick up all the slack from me not being able to do anything. And unfortunately his kitchen cleaning fairy had to go back to Grand Junction.
So, it's time for me to start doing more. And yesterday I accomplished 6697 steps (twice on the treadmill).
Today, the total was 8078 steps. Not too shabby. Just have to keep up the treadmill, and keep moving.
Tomorrow, we go visit the hematologist (blood doctor), and maybe we can figure out what caused the clots.

April 2, 2013 Me, today
You can tell I'm getting better, although slowly.
This is not me, obviously. I took the picture. But it is Clyde on the new treadmill. I go slower, and I have to keep my oxygen tube from getting tangled in this. But I do go, sometimes two times a day. And I'm up to 3/4 of a mile each time.
That is not fast enough for me. I feel like I could go a lot faster, but walking is good, faster probably isn't.
Today was the first time I did two sessions of 3/4 mile each. Total of 1.5 miles. And my pedometer says that I have gone more that 2 miles today. That is not hard to do since anywhere I go in the house, I have to backtrack to go anywhere else. Like returning to the starting point, over and over and over again. But, what the hey, walking is good.
At the doctors for the inr yesterday, the nurse told me that it would take a while for the damage from the blood clots to heal. Unfortunately, now that they are pretty much dissolved, I am getting frustrated with not being able to do everything I want to do.
I have to look at the positive side of the blood clots. They have slowed me down, so that the surgery can heal, and I won't have to do that again!
